Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease

Published on 26 February 2013, by M. Tomazy.
Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) is degenerative neurological disease caused by particles named 'Prions' which is a corrupted Aminoacid chain (which forms proteins in the body).
The disease is also known as 'Mad Cow disease' and it largely appeared in the UK in 1990s.
The Brain tissue is being disconfigurated and loses the normal texture and transformed into 'Sponge-like' Brain.
The question is: What is the exact origin of the causative agent 'Prion'?
NB: I think there is no enough information and interpretation (researches) about the disease in general and the causative agent.
