Hezbollah's Drug Trafficking: A Mere Propaganda

Published on 05 January 2015, by M. Tomazy.
Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP) was not alone to accuse Hezbollah for narco-terrorism and drug trafficking. Israeli media has been publishing inconsistent stories about "the success" of the internal security forces (Shin Bet) to expose "Hezbollah-related" drug traffickers.

Furthermore, the Saudi media (Arabic) also accuse Hezbollah of narco-terrorism and they used to invent imaginary stories like "Drug trafficking is Hezbollah's major funding source" and "Hezbollah is increasing drug trade to replace shortage of the Iranian funds"..etc..

“The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, as is by now well-known by anyone who has cared to be informed, has long been deeply involved in the international trafficking of the addictive drugs heroin and (since the early 1980s, if not earlier) cocaine, the enormous profits from which have financed, and continue to finance, both U.S. covert operations and the U.S. military (via payments to Pentagon contractors)”.

Orchestrated propaganda:
The U.S., Saudi and Israeli media intend to deform the ethical basis of the Lebanese well-organized party. Nevertheless, Hezbollah denied the accusations of drug trafficking. Moreover, All well-knowledgeable experts are quiet sure of Hezbollah's honesty.

Hezbollah's honesty:
Hezbollah is an Islamist radical party. But "radical" is not necessary a negative stigma. The term is related to "the root" here.
Drug dealing is forbidden according to the Islamic rules (Shari'a). Meanwhile, the party is strongly adherent to the Shi'ite Islamic doctrine.
Solid differentiation must be applied between the political pragmatism (or flexibility) and the ideological (i.e., radical) principles for Hezbollah. (For sure, well-knowledgeable scholars know that well.)
Silly stories are fabricated in this regard, like 'connection between the Mexican drug cartels and Hezbollah'.

The aim: ethical distortion. And mixing things up:
One may ask: why they target Hezbollah? Where they are going to reach?
The answer is:
They target Hezbollah, because the party is the most well-organized anti-Israel military force. Hezbollah must lose "sympathy" and "ethical superiority" as a local popular resistance, fighting colonial foreign forces. So, "narco-terrorism" and "drug trafficking" must replace "resistance" and "popular struggle".
