"The media continues to spread blatant propaganda intended to either outright demonize the Palestinians in Gaza or to imply the outrageous assertion that the people of Gaza and Israel are equals in the fight. Attacks on Hamas by corporate news stations and pro-Israel pundits have failed to point out that Israel has refused to budge on key demands at the negotiating table, most importantly, the demand to lift the crippling military siege on Gaza so that badly needed building, medical, and other types of aid can reach the region that has been destroyed by Israel’s bombs. These same media outlets continue to portray the Obama administration as a helpless and concerned witness to the massacre of Palestinians even though it was the U.S. government that has provided nearly a billion dollars in the past several weeks of military aid to Israel – making the U.S. an equal partner in the crimes of the Israeli government. This aid continues to flow to Israel on an annual basis as people in the U.S. struggle to find jobs, afford housing, access healthcare and are increasingly locked out of
education."
