Israel demands the British Journal for apology after publishing a cartoon. The cartoon shows hypocrisy. While Netanyahu was walking in the front lines in Paris march, he built a bloody wall in Palestine.

“The newspaper should apologize for this. We’re not going to let this stand as it is,” Israeli Ambassador to London Daniel Taub told The Times of Israel in a telephone interview. “We genuinely think that a red line has been crossed and the obligation on the newspaper is to correct that.”

Meanwhile, Rupert Murdoch, the well-known billionaire and the owner of many corporate media (including the British Sunday Times) apologized to Israel.

Murdoch  wrote on Twitter that the cartoonist, Gerald Scarfe – a veteran who frequently depicts blood in his work – did not reflect the paper's editorial line. "Nevertheless, we owe major apology for grotesque, offensive cartoon," Murdoch tweeted.

In a statement, the paper's acting editor, Martin Ivens, said that insulting the memory of Holocaust victims or invoking blood libel was "the last thing I or anyone connected with the Sunday Times would countenance".

"The paper has long written strongly in defence of Israel and its security concerns, as have I as a columnist," Ivens said. "We are, however, reminded of the sensitivities in this area by the reaction to the cartoon, and I will of course bear them very carefully in mind in future."

"Media sources said the Israeli strikes also targeted government facilities and ministries, media outlets, mosques and even homes of senior political leaders of Hamas, including the deputy head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Ismael Haniyya.

Medical sources said resident Ezzat Dheir, a 23-year-old journalist, working for a local radio, was killed along with four members of his family, after an Israeli missile striking his home.

Education In U.S. Vs U.K.

My university is based on the British curricula, besides that I was reading American books as the language is more simplified and further directed.

My impression is that, generally speaking, the American educational institutions don't give much attention to the shape and appearance, but they care about the content very well. Whereas, the UK's institutions give special attention to the shape and "recommendation letters" for example. 

I think this is one of the advantages of the American educational system, in comparison with the British and commonwealth's institutions, other than America's relatively easier naturalization laws, which attracted many think-tanks and scientists. For example, many German Jewish scientists headed to the U.S. during the NAZI's era and Einstein was just one of them.

Does The Rise Of UKIP Mean That The British Are Really Free To Govern Themselves?

Western democracy is, for the most part, a depraved form of plutocratic rule. The corporate-owned mainstream media oligopoly and the state-controlled education system indoctrinate the plebs with the idea that government is in the hands of the people. Then the people are offered a choice among mainstream parties owned and paid for by the money power: the banks, the global corporations, and the politically engaged billionaires. What those mainstream parties offer are interchangeable platforms dressed up to appear in the public interest but designed to serve the interests of  the money power. Only if public pressure for significant deviation from the plutocratic line becomes intense will the leadership promise a change of course, a promise more often than not to be honored in the breach.

In Britain today, the contradiction between the interest of the money power and the people is stark. The people of England, like those of most other European states, are the victims of an ongoing genocide by mass immigration, multi-culturalism and public policies that depress the fertility of the indigenous population. The process has already gone more than half-way to completion in the cities of London, Leicester and Luton, and Birmingham, England's second city where only one school-age child in three is ethnically English, will soon join the list.

United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP)

Public opposition to mass immigration has been loud and clear for decades and now totals 70% of the population, including the majority of immigrants. At the last election the current Prime Minister said that the problem must be "gripped." But clearly he is a liar or a feebleton without grip, since net immigration to the UK today is at an all-time high.

In the past, the only political party in Britain that campaigned against mass immigration to Britain was the British National Party (BNP), a near Nazi outfit almost certainly run by MI5, which, at the last election, threw whatever chances it had by means of a series of truly bizarre antics by the party leader, Nick Griffin, antics that could only have been intended confirm the mainstream media claim that the party was a neo-Nazi outfit, led by loons and buffoons surrounded by knuckle-dragging thugs.

Now Britain is witnessing the rise of a new anti-genocide party, the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), which is a much more serious contender than the BNP, having just won the national elections to the European Parliament. Moreover, the party leader, Nigel Farage, has given no hostages to fortune in the way of fascistic remarks or loony behavior. On the contrary, he speaks of immigrants and of Europe from whence most immigrants to Britain come, in terms of friendship and reason.

The question, then, is this: does UKIP represent a real opportunity for the British people to put some meaning into the term "democratic government," or is Farage programmed either to take UKIP down at a critical moment, or to transform UKIP into another agent of the plutocracy once ensconced in power?

It will be interesting to watch as next year's national election approaches. So far, Farage has offered only straight talk and good sense, suggesting both sincere patriotism and an intelligence in excess of that of the combined IQ of the mainstream party leaders.

The Crimean War

Medical literature and heritage are among my interests. While I was reading, I found some surgical writings on the Crimean War (1853-1856). The war fought by an alliance between Britain, France, Turkey (Ottoman empire) and Sardinia against Russia.

Current Western-Russian escalation is repeating the same geography, with different reasons.  The Crimean War (1853-1856) was, apparently, due to religious reasons, whereas the actual reason was "France, Russia and Britain were all competing for influence in the Middle East, particularly with Turkey. Religious differences were certainly a catalyst in the Crimean War. Control of access to religious sites in the Holy Land had been a cause of tension between Catholic France and Orthodox Russia for a number of years and in 1853, the conflict came to a head with rioting in Bethlehem, which was then part of the Ottoman empire ruled by Turkey. A number of Orthodox monks were killed during fighting with French monks. Tsar Nicholas I blamed the Turks for these deaths."

Until months ago, Crimea peninsula was part of Ukraine, one of the former USSR's major republics. However, Russia has finally regained control after pro-Western 'Ukrainian nationalists' --in fact, they have right-wing fascistic ideology against Russian-speakers in the eastern and southern territories-- overthrew the pro-Russian government. Thereafter, 'Cold War' has been erupted again between Russia and the Western bloc; competing for influence in Ukraine.

Returning to the War of Crimea (1853-1856):  "the spark was a religious dispute over who should be the guardian of the Ottoman Empire’s Christian minority, especially in the Holy Land: Orthodox Russia or Catholic France. Napoleon III sent his best ship, Charlemagne, to the Black Sea to defend France’s claim. That, together with aggressive diplomatic and financial inducements, sharpened the minds of Ottoman leaders, who declared in favour of France. Russia responded by invading the Ottoman-controlled territories of Moldavia and Wallachia (roughly, parts of modern day Moldova and Romania) and sinking the Ottoman fleet at the Battle of Sinope in 1853."

"In a statement on February 18, [2014] the Russian Foreign Ministry said the escalation was a "direct result of connivance by Western politicians and European structures who since the beginning of the crisis have shut their eyes on the aggressive actions of radical forces. It called on the Ukrainian opposition to "refrain from threats and ultimatums and establish a substantive dialogue with the authorities with the aim of extricating the country from deep crisis."

Algeria hostage crisis and UK government

William Hague and his government know full well that the successive wars engaged in by Britain have increased terrorism across the Middle East and south Asia.

Does William Hague, the British foreign secretary, really believe what he says about the Algerian hostage crisis?

He has expressed scepticisms that the kidnapping and killing of two western gas contractors in Algeria, one of them British, has anything to do with the French military intervention in Mali.
According to Hague, ‘That is a convenient excuse, but usually operations like this take longer to plan.’ He continued ‘whatever excuse is being used by terrorists and murderers who are involved, there is no excuse for such behaviour...This is the cold-blooded murder of people going about their business.’
‘No excuse for such behaviour’ is hardly an admonition that is going to cut much ice with the Islamist militants who are holding 20 foreign hostages including US, Norwegian and Japanese nationals, as well as 150 Algerians. Nor is the accusation of cold blooded murder, given the number of war deaths attributable to the British governments of recent times.
Hague is either a liar or a fool. He and his government know full well that the successive wars engaged in by Britain have had the effect of increasing terrorism across the Middle East and south Asia. It has spread to parts of Africa, with potentially disastrous consequences.
When French president Francois Hollande decided to intervene in Mali, Britain was desperate to be involved. Euroscepticism doesn’t extend to military adventures – far from it. The grounding of one of the two British army transport planes sent to assist the French may be symbolic of the financial and moral bankruptcy of a government which has already conducted three disastrous interventions in 11 years. But involved in military interventions it is determined to be.
This new scramble for Africa, where the old colonial powers of France and Britain try to reassert their control in the resource rich region, looks likely to end in tears very quickly.
When France began its air strikes and invasion in Mali last week the rebels there warned its government that there would be retaliation.
Blowback has come more rapidly than anyone expected.
There is a reason for that. The eleven years of cumulative war has led to immeasurably greater instability. The consequences of the wars have created greater anti western feeling in many countries, leading to the spread of al Qaeda from Afghanistan to Yemen, Somalia, Algeria, Syria and elsewhere.
The unintended consequences of the Iraq war have contributed to this. The overthrow of Saddam Hussein changed the political balance in the region, leading to Iran becoming the dominant power in the Middle East. The covert western intervention in Syria now is aimed at taking out one of Iran’s major allies in the region, and of weakening Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The spread of the wars and instability to Africa is a very dangerous development. The long running civil war in Algeria is being escalated as a result of instability elsewhere. The bombing and regime change in Libya in 2011 impacted on the rest of the region including Mali.
On the day that France invaded Mali, it staged an abortive rescue attempt of a French hostage in Somalia, backed up by the US. It can expect more such crises, and maybe attacks on French soil, while it wages war on Muslim countries abroad and attacks women wearing the hijab at home.
This may be about to get even more serious for the western powers. Europe relies on Algeria for much of its oil and gas, while Niger, bordering rebel held areas of Mali, produces a third of uranium for French nuclear power stations.
Meanwhile the French bombing has not yet been matched by serious French troops engagement on the ground. Already bravado about the mission is becoming more cautious. And in France a poll showed that 64 % thought the Mali operation would make domestic terrorist attacks more likely.

Send them to Gaza, not Auschwitz

Gilad Atzmon argues that British government funding for school visits to Auschwitz is diverting attention from crimes that are committed daily by the Jews-only state of Israel, and that British taxpayers’ money would be better spent on funding school strips to Gaza, Baghdad or Basra.

 Britain’s Conservative Party leader, David Cameron, seems to be struggling these days. After calling government funding for school visits to the former Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz a “gimmick”, he’s facing demands for an apology.

In a speech on Friday 22 February 2008, Cameron accused Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s government of being “obsessed with short-term gimmicks”, including a recommendation for schools to make “trips to Poland”.

The British government announced this month it would give GBP 4.65 million to the Holocaust Educational Trust, set up in 1988, to educate young people about the Holocaust. It wouldn’t take a genius to guess that the Jewish political institutions in Britain were very quick to tear Cameron apart for his comment.

Henry Grunwald, the president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews said: “The Board of Deputies does not get involved in party politics, but we are surprised and disappointed that David Cameron should in any way have used the word ‘gimmick’ in connection with visits to Auschwitz.”

Karen Pollock, the chief executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, said, “We do not want to be involved in party politics. But you should not use visits to Auschwitz to score political points.”

Seemingly, both Pollock and Grunwald do not like to get involved in “party politics”. For that purpose, they have some very dedicated agents such as Lord Levy, David Abrahams, the Tory Friends of Israel and the Labour Friends of Israel.

The Conservative Party was very quick to understand the message. It immediately surrendered to the “non-political” pressure. Within hours, a Tory spokesman said: “School trips to Auschwitz are a brilliant idea.”

Trying to quell the storm, the Conservative spokesman said, “Cameron was not criticizing the visits, but rather the fact that the government funding did not cover their entire cost.”

Very much like Grunwald and Pollock, I would refrain from interfering with British politics, yet I may suggest that Cameron was absolutely correct. The trips to Auschwitz are indeed a gimmick. As far as I can see, the educational value of these trips is counter-productive.

Unlike Karen Pollock from the Holocaust Educational Trust, who said, “Students use their experience to raise awareness of the lessons of the Holocaust in their schools and local communities, challenging prejudice and racism today,” I am convinced that trips to Auschwitz are there to divert the attention from crimes that are committed on a daily basis before our very eyes and in our names. The trips to Auschwitz are there to silence ethical awareness. They are there to shutter the possibility of self-reflection.

It is indeed rather easy for the British government to spend some money trying to teach young students how bad the Nazis were 63 years ago. Yet, it is far more challenging for the British government and British educational institutes to confront British wrongdoing in the past and in the present.

Instead of sending British youngsters to Auschwitz, I would suggest spending governmental funds on student trips to Gaza concentration camp. This would have a far greater educational value in so as far as challenging “racism and prejudice”. Clearly, it is in Gaza where millions of Palestinians are starved by the Jewish state while the West keeps silent.

Britain bears some direct responsibility for the Palestinian tragedy. Firstly, the Palestinian disaster was created by the British Empire. It may have started with the Balfour Declaration, but it matured into devastating ethnic cleansing in 1948, three years after the liberation of Auschwitz. Secondly, whichever way we decide to look at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Palestinians are the last victims of Hitler and the genocide in Gaza is a Shoah in the making. 

If Karen Pollock is truly concerned about “racism and prejudice”, Gaza is the place to send the British kids to, so they can come home and ask their grandparents: “Grandpa, what did you do when it all happened 60 years ago?” We have to send our kids to Gaza so they can come home and ask their parents: “Mum, what can we do to help the Palestinians?”

If Karen Pollock still wants to increase our kids’ ethical awareness but might not be convinced that Gaza is the place to do so, she may want to consider sending our youth to Basra or Baghdad. At the end of the day, the genocide of the Iraqi people, in which one and a half million Iraqis have died so far, is a war crime committed also by the current British government.

But on second thought, there is no point in sending young British students to Baghdad; they can go there as soon they finish school. They can then participate and contribute to this very contemporary Holocaust that is being committed by Britain and America in the name of democracy and neo-conservative ideology. All they have to do is simply join the British armed forces.

Iraq's invasion: British Army doctor found guilty of dishonest conduct

A medical tribunal will on Monday consider whether a former army doctor is fit to continue to practise after finding that he acted in a misleading and dishonest way after the death of Baha Mousa, a Basra hotel worker who died in British military custody in Iraq in 2003.
Derek Keilloh also failed to protect other detainees, said a panel of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) yesterday. Keilloh, who had denied any cover-up, had claimed he only saw dried blood around the nose of Mousa, who had 93 separate injuries after being arrested and beaten by soldiers.

The hotel receptionist, who had been hooded with a sandbag for 24 hours, sustained injuries including fractured ribs and a broken nose during the final 36 hours of his life in the custody of the 1st Battalion, Queen's Lancashire Regiment. Keilloh, who now works as a GP in Mayford House surgery in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, denied any knowledge of such injuries.

The MPTS panel, sitting in Manchester, is part of the General Medical Council, the doctors' professional regulator. It said Keilloh knew of the injuries to Mousa but failed to conduct an adequate examination of the body. He also failed to assess other detainees, protect them from further mistreatment or tell senior officers what was going on.

Keilloh, then a 28-year-old regimental medical officer, was called to a detention centre at the British Army HQ in Basra in September 2003 where Mousa, 26, was unconscious after a violent incident with soldiers. He and other medical staff apparently made every possible attempt to save Mousa's life and there was no criticism in this regard, said the panel. But Keilloh failed to make an adequate examination of Mousa's body when he knew the detainee had sustained injuries.

Keilloh had also failed to bring to attention of senior officers the injuries to Mousa and the possible mistreatment of two other detainees. The panel was satisfied that he should have suspected foul play.

He had also engaged in "misleading and dishonest" conduct when, at courts martials and a subsequent public inquiry, he maintained under oath that he saw no injuries to Mousa's body. The tribunal will now decide whether his behaviour amounts to misconduct, and if so, what the penalty should be. It has the power to suspend or strike off doctors.

While the injuries to Mousa were the responsibility of British soldiers, there were "clearly failings by others with responsibility towards the detainees to have safeguarded their welfare", said the panel.

Daniel Leader, from law firm Leigh Day, who represented the Mousa family, said Mousa was "an entirely innocent man who was beaten to death." The ruling "sends a clear message that just because a doctor is a soldier or in a theatre of war, their ethical responsibilities are not diminished".

Keilloh made no reaction as Brian Alderman, chairman of the panel hearing the case, delivered its verdict. The case has already lasted 42 days, with much of the hearing held in private. The decision on the facts of the case ran to 57 pages.

In all there were 51 individual allegations, 30 already admitted, 17 found proved and four not proved.

Lawyers for the GMC, which is prosecuting the case, and for Keilloh, asked for time to digest the findings. The panel will sit again on Monday.

The Jordanian intelligence services organized for officers and officials of the Israeli and U.S. intelligence interrogation sessions with Syrian soldiers, who fled to Jordan in order to extract information about the Syrian army and liaise with Syrian officers, said the paper on the role of Jordan in aiding to intensify the Syrian "uprising".

Started last spring, the role of Jordan continued in buying and transferring weapons financed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar to the militia of the so-called ‘free Syrian army’. The daily ensures that Jordanian intelligence services officers regularly meet with the Syrian militia leaders, facilitating their coming and going across the borders, and discussing with them issues and strategic military.
In exchange for this assistance, Riyadh and Doha pay cash, Amman has received assurances from Saudi Arabia and Qatar that it will get economic aid and security.

Britain's plan in Syria

Saudi and Qatari funded Free Syria Army and al-Qaeda terrorists are being trained to assassinate Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad and his military leaders, the Daily Star reports today.

The newspaper reports British SAS, SBS and troops from the Special Reconnaissance Regiment are inside Syria “helping show insurgents how to use new weapons and explosives” and “train rebel assassination squads to target President Assad and his warlords.”

The British Chief of the Defense Staff,General Sir David Richards, said contingency plans are being drafted, including “limited” intervention by British troops in “areas where assistance was being provided,” the Press Association reports.

Britain considers itself a “full-spectrum player” in the Middle East. It was at the forefront of the military intervention in Libya that resulted in the death of more than 30,000 people.

The Telegraph reported on Saturday that the United States has balked at prime minister David Cameron’s proposal to further assist the FSA and al-Qaeda following reports that the CIA and MI6 supported mercenaries are killing unarmed civilians. The FSA has admitted killing civilians and captured Syrian soldiers.

According to the CIA-engineered propaganda outfit, the Voice of America, U.S. intervention in Syria is more urgent now that “extremist Islamist elements” are taking a more active role in Syria.

“The balance of forces in the Syrian opposition is such, that as time goes by and the radical Islamists are the ones who always seem to have the money and always seem to have the weapons, they will become much more dominant in terms of that opposition.  That does not serve American interests and it certainly doesn’t serve the interests of stability in the region,” Dennis Ross told VOA.

Ross is a member of both the CFR and the Trilateral Commission. He works with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, an Israel-centric think tank closely related to the American Enterprise Institute and other neocon organizations.

In September, al-Qaeda and the FSA offered a reward of $25 million for the assassination of al-Assad. Turkey’s Anadolou news agency quoted FSA commander Ahmad Hijazi as saying the money would be paid by “supporters and businessmen” abroad.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar are spending tens of millions of dollars to support the effort to depose and kill al-Assad. Military aid is brokered through Turkey and “a secretive group operates something like a command center in Istanbul, directing the distribution of vital military supplies believed to be provided by Saudi Arabia and Qatar and transported with the help of Turkish intelligence to the Syrian border and then to the rebels.”

In October, Turkey attacked Syria with artillery after Syria targeted FSA and al-Qaeda mercenaries on the border.
